Largest tire size on stock 5 lug

what is the largest tire i can put on my stock 5 lug? wanting a mud tire mainly because i work at a chicken house and im tired of having to walk about a mile to get the tractor to pull my truck out. i have a 07 5 lug reg cab. anybody put larger tires on stock wheels?

 

235 75 r15 for no mods

30X9.5 r 15 and you have to do the black box mod

anything bigger and you need to get a lift and larger and/or wider wheels

 

I ran 30x9.5R15 on my stock steelies for a couple weeks. BFG KM2s come in 30s.

If I go from a 215 70R15 to 235 75R15 on my. 2011 access cab 5 lug will the dealer have to reprogram my anti lock brakes and traction on control?

 

i too am thinking of putting just a little taller tire on a 2012 access when it gets here end of month.i saw on here awhile back a 2 inch lift and just a little bigger tire and it looked just right,the way it should from factory.where is that picture of that dark gray access with mild alterations.

how much taller would a 235 be compared to the 215.also if i raise the truck a small amount does it take another leaf spring? concerned it may make for stiffer ride as i want comfort.1.5 inch or so lift ?

 

235 or 215 is the width of the tire in mm.

235/75/15's will be 2" larger in diameter. This by itself will result in a 1" lift.

 

Off by showing more miles than it should? or less miles than it should? Can a tire place reset this or is it just the dealor?

 

Same sensor + same calibration + tire with larger circumference = ODO displays less miles.

There are calibrators such as this one which can correct the difference.

 

Thanks for all the input. I went with some 235/75R15 Good Year Wranglers. It looks so much better. One other thing and I know this might be a newb question. Since the odo will be slightly off coukd Toyota try and void my warranty? Or should I be good if I get it in to them by say tomorrow? Thanks again for the feedback

I went up to 235x75x15's a long time ago on my 2010, and toyota has never said a word. They have honored what minor warranty work I've had done without any issue. Like others have said the odo reads app. 7% less than real and on mine the speedometer is about 2 mph slower than actual.

 

I have never heard of any dealership of any car manufacturer refusing to do warranty work because of larger tires....

^ Looks 10X Better than stock size. The rims even look much better. I think im going to up my tire size too.

 

Didnt really notice too much of a power loss. A little when climbing hills but not that bad.
