Is there something prohibitive to the design of the 2nd gen 5-lug suspension to keep companies from developing lift spindles? Seems like there are lift spindles for virtually every other truck out there. Is the 2nd gen suspension drastically different from the 1st gen?

5 lug aftermarket is tiny. How many people buy 5 lugs with plans to mod?

Yes, but design wise is it prohibitive? Are that that many more 1st gen 5 lugs around than 2nd gen?

Design wise NOTHING is prohibitive. How do you think they designed the truck in the first place?

COST wise is the prohibitive you have to think of first and foremost. If you're going to lose money creating a product, you're better off not creating it in the first place.

Perhaps, but Readlift and Fat Bob were both able to come out with cost effective spacer lifts for the 5-lug. So I was wondering there were some other constraints to developing spindles for the 2nd gen.

True, and most people that buy 4x4 and PreRunners rarely ever off-road either. LOL. Not to say that the people on here don't. Main advantage I see to lift spindles for a 5 lugs looking to get 2-3 inches up front is that it would open the truck up to so many more wheel options without the compromises of a spacer. Not looking for 35s or anything, just would be nice to get some 31x10.5's and keep the control arms, springs, and shocks stock without losing up travel like you do with spacers.

most shops can fab up a lift spindle but its going to be pricey.....

Why do u want a spindle over a spacer lift? unless u have MT or LT or want to change ur front hubs and stuff to race stuff a spindle is a waste of money just for a lift.

Do lift spindles designed for PreRunners fit on the 5-lug suspension if you get 6-lug hubs and brakes?

And for the record I would have bought a Prerunner if Toyota had not dropped the manual tranny for 2011, and no dealer was willing to track down a 2010 once they had them all off their lots.

No. Because the PrreRunners have higher shock mounts, the spindles are much taller in overall height. I looked.

it's because 5 lug trucks are meant to go LOWER, not higher. :p

honestly the market isn't there in my opinion. even on the lowering end, there aren't too many parts availble, and thats WITH the XRunner market included.
