How bad is it? Im considering some 30/9.50/15's but cant regear yet.. Is it tolerable? i do have a header exhaust and the deck plate, but its still a cylinder 5 speed...

I had a 95 2.7L and a 00 2.7L and i had 33 13.50 15 swampers and the truck drove great highway speeds where OK unless i was driving into a strong head wind then i would just cruise in fourth gear drivetrain and gears where stock and i never got stuck in that truck it was awsome . Before i built lift i had a set of rancho coils with 31 10.50's at with no loss of power

Don't know which I like better, wife ? Or Tacoma ?
I HAVE 2.7/auto acc cab. w/235 75 15 . these are nearly 30 tall, im not missing much. i believe this should have been the stock size instead of them little 215's.my speedo is now correct. and i also believe the only reason i feel slightly less guts going over a long steep grade is becaus i drove 45k with little tires was the same as if i had lower gear ratio. :turtleride:

i have 30x9.5x15s on my truck (4 cyl-automatic) and it lags alot of power. accel is slower and the rpm at higher speeds are low real low.... my mpgs took a big hit too. i was getting 22 city and now i get 18 to 19. to me thats a big difference... it feels sluggish but it works and it works just fine but be prepared to lose alot of power. I am regearing this week...

My 95 2.7 5 speed does ok on 30x9.5 15. Did notice a power loss but once I put an intake headers and exhaust couldnt tell a difference. I want to go bigger!

the 4 speed autos actually have a higher final drive than our 5 speed trucks do. (3.58 vs. 3.31)

i have 29" tall tires and yes there is a noticeable difference in acceleration...hills kinda suck esp on the freeway when you have to downshift every time, since most of our speed limits are around 50-55 mph.

4x4 2TR trucks have a 4.10 final drive, manual or auto. PreRunner's w/ the auto have a 3.58 final drive. I don't think they make the PreRunner's anymore with the 2TR and 5 Speed, but when they did i believe it was a 4.10 final drive as well.

ALL 2TR 5 lug trucks either have a 3.31 for the 5 Speed manual, or a 3.58 for the 4 speed automatic.

no problem. i really wish all of the 2TRs came with a 4.10...lol might be a bit overkill but it would make the truck alot peppier for sure.

i wish they did that in the 4x4 trucks even though the gas mileage would sux little more. It also would make the truck peppy.

I'm considering going from 3.31 to 3.58 when I bump up to 235/75r/15s... just wondering if the speedo sensor is located on the 3rd member. Do different axle ratios use different speedo sensors?

On the manuals the speedo sensor is in the tranny and to my knowledge it is different for each ratio. Not exactly sure on the automatics.
