help on chhosing tires

hey guys ive been looking at new tires and i was wondering if i should go with the general grabber at2 or the bfg ta kos. any help would be appreciated

i meant choosing lol sorry im half asleep

 

I'd pick the BFGs out of those 2.

I really like my Destination A/Ts, I would highly recommend them.

 

what type of offroading do you go out and do most?

 

i really like both of them and pricewise there isnt much of a difference. link for destinations?

 

I'm gonna get me Yokohama geolander AT/S tires.

 

What do you need them for? Snow? Gravel? Mud? Highway only but just want the look?

 

i do bird ,deer, and coyote hunting so i need a good all around tire. i go to the desert, logging roads, fire roads, snowy forest roads every once in a while some light mud kinda leaning towards the bfgs but wanted other opinions

 

what would you guys recommend for snow, dirt, street? (maybe sand)

 

I went from the 215-70-15 Dunlops my Access Cab came with to 235-70-15 Uniroyal tires. Most of my driving is highway miles so they are a street tread but work surprisingly well on the sandy back roads around SW FL. I'm very happy with the upgrade in size and would strongly recommend you do the same no matter which tire you buy.

Maybe I missed something but I imagine the BFG A/Ts are going to be quite a bit more than the General Grabbers.

If those are your only two options, I would go with the BFGs.

Would you consider retreads? If so, TreadWrights may be an option also. It's around $400 before shipping for a set of BFG A/T retreads. I'm not sure if they are available in the size you need but they have received fantastic reviews and a ton of members on here run them.

IMO, go with the BFGs.

 

I had the Generals. They work well in anything but mud. They towed well too.

 

i dont believe retreads are legal in ca. where i checked theres only a difference of about 30 dollars each. but i still cant decide they both look like great tires

 

I'm a fan of the Cooper Discover S/T's

 

Dang Pope, your truck looks just like my old one. I had Cooper ATR 31x10.5x15 on my 94 and they were great tires. Cooper dropped that tire a little while back and replaced it with the AT3.

 

Neither... Go with Wrangler DuraTracs

 

I second that...Wrangler Duratracs- best all terrain- looks like a mud tire.

 

hows the road noise with the duratracs??

 

I live just about as away from Cali as you can get in the contiguous U.S. - no experience with the ridiculous laws there.

However, you can get retreaded BFG A/T's for $100 from TreadWright - if you can find brand new BFG A/T's for $130 (going off of your $30 difference) then I would definitely do that.

Otherwise, consider the Duratracs.
