rear differential

Do 5-lug Tacoma's have rear differential issues?.....design error. The FJ's,some 4x4 Tacoma's and I'm not sure if Tundra is having issues or not.
And,how do 5-lugs REALLY do in the snow with 200--300 lbs in the back and descent snow tires....yes I've read posts after post,after post. If 5-lugs do so well in the snow,why do some folks pony up the $$$$ plus grand for them?.Preference I suppose????. TIA.

 

The rear ends that have had the most problems seem to be the e-locker rear ends. These are not available on the 5-lug tacomas, only the TRD Off-Road tacomas.

I can't say too much about snow performance, but mine has done fine with the small amount (2-3") of snow we get where I live and I run AT tires.
