8.4 rear end. Not sure about a local shop that can do the work for you but East Coast Gear Supply can send you a 3rd member with gears and whatever else you want to install yourself.

Is it expensive to regear the rearend?

The 4cyl Camry has either a 2.7L or 2.8L, and performs a lot better than the Taco with around the same gas mileage. Is it the rearend only? Or rearend and cams?

The Camry has a different engine, it is a lighter vehicle and it is front drive.

A rear end gear change is almost a grand if someone does it for you.
