5 lug mods

i got my 11' Tacoma 4banger 5lug.
looking to do something with my wheels and tires.
and a lift or something. i know that 235/75 is the biggest on the stock steelies. and i heard that if you do the black box mod you can fit 30x9.5/15 with no lift and no rubbing. i really want to do that but its not 100%. its just what people heard. so if anyone knows if its true please inform me on it. my taco looks like a little girl with those ugly tires. but i still love her

I put a Fat Bob'son my five lug before I sold it. The ride was horrible. If I had to do it again, I would have stuck with the 235/75. It was a great compromise and the ride was fantastic.

wait... whoa.
dc 5 lug.

Don't see too many of those driving around. Especially pre-2012 dc 5 lugs.

depending on your bank account, screw the whole fatbobs idea... go LT. But then again, nobody ever has the money for that, so I believe all the info you have about tire sizes is correct.

To give you an idea of what's possible as a bolt-on:
http://www.chaosfab.com/2005+Toyota-...Kit-88000.html

Since you have a double cab, which comes with the 4x4 fender flares, you can probably accommodate the track width increase without fiberglass fenders.

Not to hate or anything, but I bet that thing feels slow as a dog. Double cab 4 cylinder just sounds cray to me.

^It's lighter than an Access Cab 4cyl 4x4, which has been offered since the beginning.

Yuppp ... No other mods. I went with some ProComps 7169??? i think that was the model. 15x8 and 30x9.5 tires. Had to put 3mm spacers in front to clear the calipers though. 5 Luggers should have came with 30x9.5! haha my Tacoma looks and feels like a truck after the bigger tires.

Thanks bro. Looks pretty bad ass with no lift and some pretty fat tires. Stalky like bull dogg. Now time to save up. Or just use some tax return money. Hah

Isn't the MT kit for the 5-luggers around $2500 as opposed to $4k+ for the LT? That seems more affordable, and perhaps a little more tarmac friendly too, yes?

Nice looking truck! I have a '12 reg cab Taco 5 lugger and have been looking at the Ready Lift 2.75 lift. Do you have a link for the Fat Bob 5 lugger lift?
