Snorkel Recommendations?

I'm currently having a 2010 Access Cab being shipped to me from across the country, and the first thing I really want to do is put a snorkel on it. The area that I work in floods badly whenever it rains at high tide, and I want to be sure that I don't destroy my engine.

My eventual goal is to be able to get through the deepest flooding here (about 2.5 feet) without any damage to my engine.

Has anyone here ever installed a snorkel on their truck, and do you have any recommendations for good ones?

probably should give it a good lift first because that thing is going to look real goofy with a snorkel and no lift

I do plan on giving it a lift, but right now I'm more concerned with keeping my engine functioning than how it looks.

Awesome, thanks for the info. I'm probably going to get a mechanic to install it. I don't have to tools or the mechanical know-how to install this myself.

 

You could probably install an Injen warm air intake to bring the air inlet into the engine bay up higher instead of down lower in the fender. Then get 235/75 tires to give you another inch of free lift for the entire truck.

This picture has been borrowed from Tooter here. I'm not sure how high that area in the engine bay on top of the fender well is, but it's something to consider.
