Level it 1", 1.5"?

I see the 2.5-3" kits and the rear AAL to lift the whole truck. Is there a method to just raise it the inch it is off in front without going to the big 2.5" minimum style kit?

Anyone know the ratio of actual lift from say a 1/2" strut top spacer? I could have a buddy machine out a custom set if I come up with a spec.

I guess nobody has played with this?

Could a guy with a front lift do me a favor, can you post the actual height of the spacer above your strut and the true lift gained at the fender?

why not just get the full leveling kit, i just saw a guy post up a fatbobs full lift kit new in box for 150? I'd imagine custom machining a small spacer would be almost the same price?

I don't need or want the full lift as I'm already on the edge of needing gears to use it as I need it on stock 215/70-15 tires.

The $ isn't the issue, more just what I really want from the truck, and I can trim up a set of spacers for just about zero $ anyway. There isn't much to it if I can still use the stock studs. It would just be a round plate with 4 holes in it.

5100's are the shock that goes in the coil. They are adjustable at 4 increments: 0", .85", 1.75", and 2.5".

Well, I built my own leveling kit. I bought a 3" front spacer off eBay, chopped the top n bottom plates off the center tube and spaced them apart with large nuts, welded in place, to create a 7/8" spacer. Bolted in, I got a 1.75" lift, bringing me right about a quarter inch or less higher than the rear. Close enough for me.

I'm running 30x9.50 on stock steelies and love the extra clearance for my front hitch bike rack. I just adjusted the headlights, which was stupid easy.

4.10 gears, might be a tad tall for my needs with the 30s but it'll do for now. I'd not try a second gear start but still better feeling than stock tires and 3.31 gears.

I have a few thousand miles on this now. I didn't even need an alignment. Everything is wearing evenly, drives great. One thing I worried about was maxing out the alignment adjustments with a big spacer lift up front.

Happy it is out of the weeds and not quite the neutered lil pup it started out as.

4.88 gears and a Detroit True Trac are going in her next week as the 4.10 is just too tall for my tastes with the 30x9.5 tires. It feels like near stock gearing again. Gives me room for more tire down the road too.

The problem with a leveling kit is the stock leaf spring will wear down over time... if you don't haul or tow you might be fine but if you do after a few years they sag real bad... Just something to keep in mind.....

Good point. I was slightly low out back so I added a cheapo AAL, now it has very slight rake. Depending on how it holds up I'll probably replace the leafs at some point. See how long they last for now.

Looks awesome navin.
Is this the only way to lift just the front? I'm looking to level the front or go a bit taller than the stock rear height. With no lift in the rear.

I think on the 5 lug it is. The lift to spacer ratio is 1:2 so if you make a 1" spacer, you get 2" actual lift.

With a few basic skills rebuilding an eBay spacer kit to your personal size is pretty easy. The size I made allowed the reuse of the supplied studs and everything bolted in great, any bigger and I'd have had to get longer hardware.

No alignment either at this height lift, nothing is stressed out to max flex or anything. Subtle but effective. If I park next to a stocker its a nice difference.

If you have a grinder, the welding might cost you $15. It wasn't much but a zap to lock it together. Took all of three minutes to weld everything. Not precision work. Very simple stuff if you took it to a welding shop.
