TRD Skid Plate on 5 Lug?

Does anyone know if the holes line up for the (2nd gen) TRD skid plate on the (2nd gen) 5 lug under side?

x2 for them not being a bolt on. Somewhere on here was a guy who got one and drilled out new holes to some success. Couldn't tell you who though...

I wanted one too. Primarily to protect lower engine bay from road spray and debris. Carefully evaluated both TRD and standard plate found on all 6 lug models, and determined that they would not fit. I finally elected to fabricate my own. Since I don't own a metal break I decided to use 1/4" polyethylene (think cutting board material). This is easily obtained from any plastics supply house on line.

There are two breaks(bends) required. One of the great things about PE is that it's thermoformable. I used a heat gun along the line of the break and then bent it as needed. You gotta get it really hot.

I then attached it using existing holes in the frame rails beneath the front part of the engine bay. Used all stainless 1/4" hardware with fender washers and nylock nuts.

There are no published specs for this. I used a mechanical protractor to measure the angles. There are two angle "breaks". They're the same (I believe 17 degrees), but you'll need to measure it to make sure. Then I measured ,the distance from the back of the frame rail I was attaching to, to the first "break". The I measured the distance to the second break. Then there are just a couple inches forward of the front break. Width is designers preference. Just ensure that it doesn't interfere with steering. If your guy uses steel or Aluminum, I would either powder-coat (steel) or anodize (Aluminum). Keep us posted.
