    Hey everybody!

    I already introduced myself in another thread a few months back when I registered after almost a year of lurking. I've been wanting a Tacoma for a few years now, and after a few weeks of very rigorous searching, I found the exact truck I wanted, and it happened to be only 1/4 mile away from me!

    Saturday night, I picked up a 2010 DC Short box 4x4 with SR5 package. Came with a few cool upgrades like the backup cam and Tow Package. After 2 days of driving around town and doing a lil' trail riding, I couldn't be happier with my choice. She's beautiful, and much more comfortable than my VW Rabbit I traded in. I feel like a new person in this truck!

    My plans for the truck are all about function rather than form (which is why I opted out of the more expensive TRD Sport). I want a rig that I can confidently take out on the trail without worrying about getting stuck or needing a recovery, and something I can actually spend a night in if need be. I do live in Orange County, so I will be doing much of my driving around town or on CA highways, so fuel economy is also important to me, as well as enduring long hours on the road. My first few mods are planned for the summer, including a Bestop Supertop, 3" lift (hopefully Icons), and of course off-road wheels and oversized tires.

    Almost forgot to mention...I ordered my vanity CA plates last night. It reads "TACOMAT" which is a play on my name.

    My first choice was literally snatched away by another Tacoma owner right in front of my eyes! I had chosen "4X4 TACO", which was perfect! As I headed downstairs to grab my wallet and purchase the plates, I went to checkout and the site said the plate had been taken, when it was available literally 5 minutes prior! Oh well...
