Finished Sub Box Got a ?

So I finally finished putting together my box after designing and cutting the pieces back in February. I am going to be running a Sundown Audio SD-2 12 and the manufacturers recommended volume is 1ft^3 but my box is about .75ft^3. The question is should I add some polyfil to it and if so how much should I add?

Just get a little $5 and put it in there.

You should be fine with one of the pillow sized bags should be around 5-10 dollars.

 

What are the dimensions of your box? Will be building one for a polk mm series 12".

I usually suggest about one pound per cubic foot. It's better to buy the loose poly-fill, generally referred to as pillow stuffing.

You're looking too fill the box loosely. Don't pack too much in or you will defeat the purpose.

I'm gonna throw this out there to everyone doing stereos. My family business is garnetting cotton batting, wool and polyester. We make a poly pillow stuffing that we make into 1lb batts. I will figure out how much I can get in a flat rate box for the PO. I sell this stuff at $5/lb and it is great quality. Give me a day to figure this out....

Hey. How do you like your SD-2 12? I was originally going to run two of the 10s but it will be a bit tight in the back of my DCSB with amps etc. Do you find that the single 12 is enough kick for you? What amp and how much power are you running?
