If you were going to get lockers installed where would you go?

Say you had no tools, no place to do it, and no skill at doing it. Who would you trust to install YOUR lockers.

DEFINITELY NOT 4 wheel parts, run far and run fast from any of their stores. They employ ignorant imbeciles who have absolutely no effin clue what they are doing. Even if I sold them a clue, they still wouldn't have one!

 

Order diffs from East Coast Gear and send your stock diffs back for the core charge.

 

SDHQ because they know Tacoma's inside and out, even if it'll cost a little more! Their customer service is second to none and they're always helping out the local members!

Never done business with them nor had them work on my truck but I have heard good things about SDHQ offroad on this forum.

No tools, no where, and no skills...

 

The fucking Toyota dealership can swap diffs, and it's two hours labor at most.

Or, if you can borrow tools from a friend, you can do it in a driveway in about 4 hours working by yourself. Maybe 6 since you're unfamiliar with the process.

 

I know... But the purpose of this poll is just to see if there is anyone out there that can be trusted to do such a job.

 

Look for an independent driveline shop. Those tend to be the best options after the big names in terms of treating you fairly.

If you're going to be offroading, learning to spin wrench on these things is strongly advised.

Anyway, I'd trust ECGS to do the actual installing work, sure. Long drive for someone in your area though.

 

I hear ya brotha, I can do basic stuff - for example I installed my lift and bumpers. But when it comes to gears and such I would rather leave it up to someone that has done that shit before.

But I think I would have to do it myself, even if it took me an entire weekend. Nothing like Knowing your rig.

 

No doubt. To do that one yourself you need somewhere to leave the truck torn down for a week or so (If you have a day job...). Also a few less-common tools (inch-pounds tq wrench, micrometer, diff jig).

If the diff is pre-assembled though, like the ECGS units, swapping them in and out of the truck is just bolts and plugs.

Anyway, you have my answer. We'll see what some of the west coasties say.
