Just a bunch of old crap
Crossing fingers that this doesn't affect any more houses and people that it has, and that it doesn't close down a good set of trails due to erosion.

I just went outside for a break and it's totally smoky and hazy outside. I wonder if that's coming down from the CK fire? I'm all the way out in N Scottsdale. It is windy out.

Just got another picture from my mom. The wind is definitely not helping. It spread even more, but moving away from CK. the picture is erie. Also, just watched the news and they were reporting from my highschool in Mayer. Showing the fire and the evac camp. Saw my house and old stomping ground.. lol. I may be up there this weekend so ill try and grab some pictures and some info.

I'm fairly confident after looking at some fire maps last night that the processing plant at Sunflower Mine probably got damaged in the fire up there :( it was a really fun trail with some awesome historic sites, really sucks.

heres a burn map from the Gladiator fire up around CK for you guys

    http://www.inciweb.org/incident/2864/

and the Sunflower Fire, you can see the Plant near pretty much the middle of the burned area if you know what your looking for. It even looks like some of the trail was used as fire lines :( could make for a pretty sketch post apocalyptic trail run, I'll be heading up there to check it out as soon as its deemed safe. Really bums me out

Let's stay on topic and just talk about the Crown King situation in this thread please. I don't want to lose focus on this trail run, as it is still likely that we will have it. If the south side stays clear and the Crown King folks are able to return home, then we should be a go.

Not lookin good In CK. :( 3 homes gone. If the winds keep up and cross over the ridge, they predict all of CK to be destroyed. The ashes from the fire are falling on my hometown (mayer) where the Evac center is. They just had a town meeting in my highschool and showed it on the news. It's bummin me out.. :(

This is really sad. Why do we not have more resources allocated to stop these fires? It gets worse every year.

I think I have to drop out of this run.

But I for sure will be at Knoll Lake.

I hate to say it, but I'm probably going to bow out of this run. That doesn't mean that it still can't happen, but if someone wants to take over the organization then let me know and I'll put you in control. With the unknowns from the fires, the condition of my tires, and a ton of business travel through next month, I'm going to be tapped out. I'm putting everything I have into making sure the Knoll Lake trip is the best it can be.

    :(

I don't think this run will be very good if its all burnt up anyway. The fires are still raging like crazy!
