Looks good. I probably would have taken the gussets all the way to the top so it ties all the pieces together, but it's too late for that. I think you have covered the area of the biggest concern.

Anyway, job well done. Load 'er up!

    thanks man!
And yea the weakest point is definitely that bend so i wanted to cover the bend up to the top of the premade bracket, the top piece I welded on the makes it extend horizontally is actually very strong so i didn't think it would need but like you said it's already welded so no going back now :D

I second this and only because the way the rack sits all the forward/backward movement on the rack is on the weld and flat section.

the weakest link is the bend (if you didnt read whole thread) at the base of the bracket, that has been reinforced with the gusset. i already said that i Should have gone all the way to the top of the brackets but as it sits now there is virtually no movement when smashed with a hammer
    i appreciate the concern.

ALL DONE AND MOUNTED. I LOVE IT!

very very solid, has no flex in any direction when I push on it

does make a "wind" noise when driving at any speed over 40mph but that cant be heard is windows are down or music is on

rubber "flange" in between the actual metal of the truck and the metal bracket

    THOUGHTS?
i will have more pics tommorow!

my buddy at his shop who did the actual install used a locking agent on the bolt and nut to make a moisture and water proof barrier
