Got my 2008 Tacoma Sport Double Cab back in October. It had some very small paint chips on the hood that were poorly painted over with paint that didn't even match. Needless to say, I would like to redo this so it looks good, but I'm not sure of the process to take the old crappy paint the dealership put on and apply new color matched paint. I don't want to screw anything up. Any help you can provide would be great. The picture shows the chips, the smears around it are my cleaning with a wet finger and other spots are rain spots. The white chippy part is the area I'm talking about. Thanks!

The best way to fix it is to have the entire hood repainted professionally. You could tape-off, sand, paint and clear that one area, but you will be able to see it. Or you could cover it with something - bug shield, decal, etc. - depending on how big/where it is.

Yeah my old Tacoma had a bad spot on the hood, I actualy had the whole hood re-painted at Toyota's body paint shop for $200. I think it was good deal, lifetime warranty on their work too
