They are asking $24,500, I've been watching this truck for like 8 months now. Back then it was listed at $27,000. Its only got 9,830 miles on it.

    What should I offer?

Great truck for a great price IMO. I'd rather have the access cab, I need more bed space.:(

well they've come down $2500, you could ask for more, but I'd expect to pay right around that price by now

    nothing cool
nice truck for a 2009. LOW LOW miles! crazy low miles! if you're been watching it for 8 months I'm sure you can get another $500-$750 off. Ya might get even more if they need to get rid of it.

NADA comes in at $28,625 for clean retail.

If its a private seller that's even better. I'd take that at that price & ask the seller if he would pay the sales tax or half of it at least. Here in Texas it's 6.25% so the price would be a hair over $26k which is border lining a new truck..

do it and don't look back! Clean truck. Good color, TRD.

I agree with above posts...if it has been there 8 months...you may be able to squeak a bit more out of them.

I got a 2010 with 11K for $24500. In Sept of 2010 when the new models were coming out. That was at Balise, good price but, they screw up my paper work so bad it took me a year to get it fixed and pay off fines. I bet you could get them to go lower. Oh, I went through AAA for a loan and got it through Navagent Credit for 3.9%. Good luck

i personally would go in a tell them you can do 22,000 right now, deal done. see what they say. but even getting that truck for 24,000 is good.

they will tell you it has low mileage, which is true. but i would turn around and tell them your looking to buy something that is 3 years old.

I'm thinking I will low ball them at $19,500 give them my business card and drive away. Tell them I'm going to check out the trucks at the Toyota dealership in Newport(down the road) and to give me call after they talk to the manager. And then maybe go up to $21,000 max.

I it appears a lot of ppl are trading these bad Larry's in do to such high gas prices round here. So many private owners I've talked to all say I need to get something better on gas. And there is just about every configuration available here. There doesn't seem to be a great demand right now.

They just lowered the cost of the 2012 to like $27k-28, so I can see why they dropped from $27 to $24,500. I'm betting they will go even lower with July around the corner the 2013's coming out and the fact that they have like 20 Tacomas on lot already.

None yet but soon all black.
You can deff go lower on the price. I would think about 1,200 off of it now and then I would buy it. I live in mass and got a brand new 2010 sr5 with tow package for 25,000 even. The Msrp was 29,500 on it so I got a really good deal. You can deff go lower. Say I'll do 23,000 even and walk out. They can't say no to that. Good luck

That wouldn't last a week here at that price. Regional price differences are really amazing.

So this is how my barging is going. Here's my initial email and the sellers reply:

    Me:

    Hello Barbara,

Im well thank you for asking. I had just read about the recall on those steering wheel cables. But lets say all is well. That particular truck is basically what I'm in the market for. 3 yrs old, 4x4, V6, Access cab, TRD off road pkg.

I see you have had this truck on your lot since last year. I would be a buyer in the range of $21,300. Run some numbers and get back to me. If everything works out I would be willing to come down tonight to see said truck. l live in Warwick and I could come down after work (around 4pm)

    Thank you for your time.

    Her:

Did you get the second email I sent, that there was no recall?

Matthew, I am really sorry but we can't accept that offer even though we wish we could. The truck stands us 2,000 more than we are selling it for. We lowered the price and are taking a loss on it.

Having written that, it is a beautiful truck, truly! And at a great savings. We can always help you with financing the balance of the vehicle. Since it is certified, it is eligible for 2.9%!

Looking forward to your reply and I thank you for your time!

    Sincerely,

    Barbara

    Me:

    Hey Barbara,

This is the recall I was refering to: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/46657176/ns/business-autos/#.T1e9qsAgc0U it was issued last week.

I understand your need to make a profit, but i find it hard to belive you paid retail for this used truck. Its going to be four years old soon and the 2013 models come out in a couple of months. And Im sure you need room for new models to come in.

When all said and done the tax will be around $1,448, intrest $2,284, insurance $11,304, and maintence over 5 yrs $6,033. After five years, with fuel costs, I would have paid around $49,745 for this truck.

So after having written that I'm willing to come up to $23,000 if you thrown in TTL.

ETA: I've never purchased a vehicle from a dealership before. Everything I have read and from comments from ppl on here nobody ever pays the sticker price. How come she wouldn't even budge from the get go? I really want this truck but I don't want to be paying a $400+ bill for it every month. Hows my negotiations going? You think I'm pissing her off? I think its reasonable. I can by the same car 2012 for $29,000 wtf.

I'll post back with her reply after lunch.
