Hi guys.. I am fairly new here.. I put my $1000 deposit on my new Trail Edition TRD Tacoma. I am adding the TRD supercharger and tonneau cover.

I am wondering if any one has invested in the DK9000 Rust Prevention Module??

I am to understand that it is similar to the Counter Act system.

Does anyone have any experience with either product??

    Thank You

    Hi all.

    Hi Bly.

I ordered the module when I ordered my truck. During the wait I cancelled it. I never read one good review on the whole idea of a corrosion module, except from the people who sell them. I am familiar with cathodic protection systems on underground pipelines but the wet ground gives those systems a way to complete the circuit. I don't see a way to complete the circuit on these vehicle systems.

I keep my new truck clean and waxed religiously as my rust protection program. I don't live near an ocean and the roads here don't get salted much, otherwise I would be taking steps to protect the undercarriage as well.

    Cheers.

These things are scams. The manufacturers are trying to pretend that they do the same thing as those systems that protect underground pipes and marine equipment. In those applications, they do, in fact, work. They work because, as Fury mentioned, there is a complete circuit. On a car, there is none, so unless you park your car in the ocean or a saltwater swimming pool, dont waste your money.

Yeah, the dealer gave it a shot, trying to talk me into it. Along with some paint and upholstry protection in one big package.

All my research online came back with the same answer: No

I read of a couple of instances where the Module did work... for about one inch all the way around it.

The snake oil salesman got to you.

Those things are SCAMS. ALL of them. It has nothing to do with the name or who makes them, it has to do with physics and chemistry. They cannot do anything for a car, totally impossible.

Never spend good money on worthless crap. Its too bad that you got ripped off for the $2000 those worthless heaps of trash cost, but its your own fault for taking the word of a scammer at face value.

Now isnt that interesting... their "warranty" simply matches the car manufacturer's rust perforation warranty. In other words, they wont ever cover anything under any circumstances.
