All Tacoma beds and all double cab Tacomas are assembled in TMMBC (Mexico).

All Access and Regular cab Tacomas are assembled in TMMTX (San Antonio, Texas).

This is current information, it has changed over the years of course. If you own a 2012 DC, it was built in Mexico. Otherwise, it was built in the US. I believe the same could be said for 2011 (and possibly 2010) but I'm not sure.

Look at Google maps. The ones "Hecho en Mexico" might as well be made in the US, without the line on the map you'd never know. Regardless, whether Baja or San Antonio, some diligent hispanic folks played a hand in assembling your Taco. Which is kind of funny, if you ask me, no offense to my southern brothers.

If I remember right GM owns about 49% of Toyota stock. GM fucked up so bad with their domestic products along with the union which probably is siphoned by the mob, they had to be bailed out by us taxpayers. Hell, only Ford DIDN'T have to get bailed out. And Chrysler is now owned by Fiat, after being owned by Daimler-Benz. Jesus. And they still don't put out a metric product. Hard to compete worldwide with SAE sizing when the rest of the world is metric.

First digit of VIN = 3 built in Mexico
First digit of VIN = 5 built in Texas

I know DC's are made in both places. Not sure about the AC's and RC's.

I just read their filings, that is incorrect. I wouldn't be surprised if 49% of GM's value is Toyota stock, though.

The next time they give you shit about where your truck was made, show them this chart. This is the domestic content of pickup trucks sold in the U.S.

Im pretty sure i passed math but those percentages don't all add up to 100%. Also you should consider if this chart is only good for domestic us products sold. Its law foreign car companies are required to have a high domestic % of sourced parts, thats how the US keeps domestic companies alive, oh and a lot of lobbying. You should look into the airlines industry no foreign company is allowed to operate flights in the US. You gotta 1. Buy an existing/partner us company. Or 2. Creat a new U.S. company backed by the foreign parent company. This also applies to anheiser bush now.

Take up the math with the American Automobile Labeling Act formula. Not sure what your point is with the rest of your post.

In simple terms high money industry is backed by their domestic government with the help of lobbying. And the rest is ranting on how the economy works.

I own a 2012 DC that was built in San Antonio, TX ... and I'm 100% sure about that.

EDIT: It's not about where your truck is built...it's about the quality standards of the factory it comes from.
