As far as what you will actually be trimming, normally it will be some of the actual fender flare. The way i found what i needed to trim was just drive normal and let it rub for a day or so, you will then see some marks where your tires are rubbing and just trim that area off.... Its a hit and miss thing took me a few days to get everything because i would hit a bump or dip and hear a new rub then i would find it and get rid of it....

Ive been lucky so far and havent had to do the cab mount chop..

As for what to use i used a small saw, but you can you anything really that will cut the fender....

That doesent look too bad, I think I kinda like them sticking out abit like that. Does it cause any issues?

I guess ill do a drive and see with the trimming then. Hate to have to chop anything tho.

Will the 1.25" spacer prevent rubbing on the uca also? Ive read other threads where I saw tires do that.

I like how it looks also, no really issues although it does throw mud, dirt, rocks etc on the rocker panels of your truck more doesnt really bother me though. At first i didnt want to have to cut into my new truck either, but then i was like fuck it lol and you dont really see it anyways. Only way you see it is if you really "looking" for it. And yes with the spidertrax i DO NOT rub my uca's...

OP thanks for the post it has also finalized answering all my questions as I am doing the same. Mostly road driving other than the winter steelhead fishing trips. I'm going with Option 2 (OME w/ Dakars) with the LR UCA's, spacers and either 275-70-17 or 285-70-17 BFG A/T's on sport wheels like yours. Leaning to the 275's as I think they will fit the wheel a bit better but BulletToothTony's may make me change my mind. And after all the reading and research I cannot wait to get it done!!!
BTW nice trucks to all the guys who posted here thanks.

Sure thing man, im still reading and researching myself while I raise the dough I need for this. Time to crack open that jar of pennies! Im prolly a month away from ordering parts here tho, I like to have things paid for before I order them.

One kinda funny thing in all my searching and reading is that, in alot of the posts, the first reply is usually 'use the search', which is kinda ironic when it was the search that showed me the thread asking the question I wanted to know the answer to also.

Next thing ill be looking for is good places to buy all these parts from or places I should avoid buying from.

I'm on about the same timeline as you to have it paid for when shipped to me. I've found on here seems to be the place of choice. And OZ-T has let me know I may not need the spacers with 275's...thanks OZ-T

Post pics when you get it done.

I hate when threads end abrubtly with no resolution, so heres what ive decided to go with:

    Front:
OME 90000 NitroCharger Sport Front Shock Set
    OME 885 front coil springs
    OME 95PF5 5MM Trim Packer
    Light Racing UCA's
    Front Extended Brake Lines

    Rear:
    OME N182 NitroCharger rear shocks
OME CS047 2.75" Lift Dakar Leaf Spring Set
    Bushing set
U-Bolt Set for OME Leaf Springs
Solid Steel Axle 3 degree Shims w/ Leaf Spring Center Bolt & Center Pin Collars
    Rear Extended Brake Lines

    Tires:
    BFG AT T/A KO 285/70/17
    Spidertrax Wheel Spacers 1.25"

Total cost from parts to rolling down the road: 3k ish, give or take.
    _____________

Ive also tracked down some pics of what the final setup should look like:
First one is a photoshopped swb (#3 from my first post) and the second one I found from google image search.

Rather then start a new thread -

I need new tires ASAP. I'm looking to get taller ones, but obviously I'm limited by ride hight. Do any of these lift options cost wheel travel? I really can't sacrifice any wheel travel as my primary off-roading is done in the dunes and flats.

Long term goal is to go Long-Travel.

What kind of tires are you running now and what kind of lift do you have?

slcnbldr, your TRD sport should be able to fit 275/70r17's on there stock, have them on mine, no lift no rubbing on my 2012 TRD sport. Have beat it hard off road and no rubbing, well in sand and mud anyhow. All we have in Florida

With any lift other than LT you will loose some down travel. With stock suspension you can fit 265/75/16s (a little over 1" taller) and will look good stock to 3" lift. Any larger and you need a lift.

looks good OP, full OME is your best bet for 2.5"-3" lifts, also good choice on the LR UCA's, you will lose 1-3 mpg's running 285's because they're wider, just throwing that out there
