Okay so, I bought the truck used which means I can roll with the burgundy body color thats cool, but I'm a fan of the "murdered" look with black accenting the body color :p Along with that personal preference, I'm also not a big fan of chrome....anything. So as my first order of business I decided to get rid of the old crappy sticky letters on the tailgate and go with a much cleaner look, similar to the 2nd gens :D here i go!

First, I had to find a way to get these old sticky ass letters off as they are not hard plastic like the door badges or 2nd gen badges. I found that alcohol and a putty knife (PLASTIC) worked best to pry the damn things off. that is until my friends older brother showed up to his garage to find us prying like idiots at the adhesive until he said "you're supposed to heat it up with a blow dryer".... WHAT THE HELL MAN

there we go. all gone...now onto the "Prerunner V6"

goo gone made the job a LITTLE easier but it didnt make me fly over the moon.

Well she was lookin a little bare all debadged and whatnot...and then it hit me. I have door badges as well! I might as well take those off....

BAM! had a little oopsie with the TOYOTA considering its all one piece of plastic. got both sides off and went immediately to painting:

I figured sanding and crap would have been a lot of hassle for such a small piece of plastic...plus i had the passenger side one as a back up if i messed the first one up.

Picked up some 3M double sided tape as recommended by the 2nd gen debadging thread which was a bit of a hassle to work with until you heated it up which turned it sticky as hell making the bonding process easier....and done!

placed it right where I wanted it. I like the simplicity of the TACOMA without all the other willy nilly stuff :D

what did i do with the extra badge you ask?......

I had no other use so i 3M taped it down and thats where it'll stay....for now
