I've always wondered about them. In for what everyone says.

 

im interested too! looks pretty good. hopefully its still impressive with sound.. havent hear too many good 8" subs.

 

I'm going to pick one up this week. It was down to that or the Infinity Basslink, and I want an underseat option.

 

if its kicker im sure it wont disappoint you. Ive had nothing but 100% positive experience with kicker products.

Yes. It's for all intents and purposes the same size as the Sound Ordnance unit that a few folks have used in their Tacos, just 1/4" wider, and 1/8" shorter.

 

I have a similar version of this but from Focal. Slid right under the passenger seat. I had to rotate the brace bar under the seat 180 degrees (or u can remove it all together), but the unit fills in the low end nicely. Surprising for its compact size. It's not going to rattle license plates or shake your mirror but its a classy, hidden, non intrusive way to fill in the lows. iBus 20

 

Why did you choose to put it under the passenger seat instead of the driver's side? Not saying it's wrong at all, just wondering.

 

Under the passenger seat is a larger flat and more roomy mounting area, was a better fit for the iBus. it doesn't stick out and is invisible. Under the drivers seat is not as flat and has less room, my 2 ch amp was a better fit for that spot.

I've had passengers and no one has said anything while sitting there. It also has a small single knob remote control that I have mounted in the console so I can adjust it, but have never had to.

I had low expectations for the iBus coming from my 10" kicker driven off my Zapco ST1. This unit freed up the rear area for my dog and delivers ALMOST as much base as my old 10... There's going to be some trade off... Given its form factor, and function, I'm totally ok with it.

Thanks for the feedback, I'll take a look at that side. When the brown truck dropped it off the other day, I left it in the bag and slid it under the driver's side. It fit, but was tight. I agree with you on the space in the can. I was thinking about an Infinity Basslink as well, but didn't want to lose that space in the back.

 

on my truck there is a very thick bar under the passenger seat that spans across the lower seat rails, dips down, and cuts usuable space under the seat by at least 50%. its held in by a torx bolt on each side. (access by removing lower seat trim and seat belt bolts).

You can remove the bar (i had it removed for around 1500 miles)... or you can just rotate it 180 degrees so its facing up.

when i reupholstered my seats i had the seats out anyways, so i did a quick check to see if the iBus would fit with the bar and it did, so i reinstalled. when you put the bar back in flipped, it will just touch the lower seat bottom. i sat in the seat both ways and it made no difference, i didnt feel it. im almost 200 pounds. i also found no difference in seat operation, vibration, or sliding with or without bar... lol not sure why its even there but i figured why not put it back.

you guys are gonna think im nuts... but my iBus is mounted under the passenger seat with big 4"x4" squares of industrial velcro... i thought it was a crazy idea... but the velcro locks into the carpet like glue... ive been driving around with it mounted like this for at least 2000 miles and its totally secure. no vibration noises, no drilling into the floor or seat frames... just prep the metal properly to accept the adhesive...

 

I don't think you're nuts, that's what I was going to try as well. The Kicker comes with two straps, but I don't want to drill into my Taco to attach them.

if so, how much of a pain in the ass is it?
