Sluggish Engine Start

So i've got an 06 prerunner with 90K on it and have never had a problem with it. This afternoon though i got into my truck and as I tried to start it up it took alot longer than usual. At first it sounded like my battery was dead but just as i was about to stop turning the key it started up... this was really weird to me so i let the engine warm up, turned it off, and tried it again to see if i would get a smooth start this time but again i got that sluggish start. the engine turns over for about 3-4 seconds before firing up... you guys have any idea of what it could be? its really annoying me. pull it let parts store check it. prob sulfated. after new batt then get a volt meter make sure your alt is putting out the 13-14 volts to the batt it needs

 

Thanks guys yeah probably just needs a new battery and hopefully the alternators fine as well. Gonna take the battery to autozone in a bit and see whats going on

 

Five year batteries generally last about five years.

 

there is nothing like a deep freeze or intense heat to finish off weak batteries.

 

thats probably why we go through so many batteries here in arizona. cant wait for it to start cooling down again

its funny here in texas i said hey we're gettn a cold front. they say yay how cold, 95 with 80%humidity. damn brake out the jackets. but it beats the 107 we head the previous week

 

It's a dry heat. I'm liking Buffalo...a little more. Ok, it sucks.
