is my steering shaft toast?

everytime i offroad my toe gets out of whack and my steering wheel is crooked...yesterday ii hit a bump hard and it got knocked out....then i hit another bump and now it is straight again.....i took some pix of my steering shaft, it doesnt look right...the shaft has somem play also...







i almost thought that maybe the yoke sleeve was loose and slipping....but it was tight

How does it drive and also as long as your tires aren't getting uneven wear youll be fine

 

it drives fine....but when i hit that second whoop when turning....i thought my steering shaft snapped! the noise was so bad

 

Hopefully someone will chime in with an answer

 

This happened to there's a wierd clunking noise when I hit a bump hard pm haitt he had a fix for that just put a zip tie some were on the steering shaft and helped with the noise

 

i have that same clunk....i will pm him

 

Did you check your stearing box mount? Check carefully, might be a small crack when not under stress.

solid axles have steering boxes..that about all i know haha

 

Yeah! The hydraulic thing that helps the truck turn.

Edit: just looked on my truck. Not like other trucks I've owned. There is no steering box. My truck is still stock, haven't played under it yet. I feel dumb. Sry guys

 

Well from the vids ive seen of your truck, you kinda drive it hard. I seriously think cam tab gussets would really help you out. Arent your tabs bent anyways?

 

Some ifs use steering boxes. Most solid axles use steering boxes. Ours uses a rack an d pinion. Check for play in the ujoints on the steering shaft. Check tie rod ends. check bushings on rack.

 

One of the cam tabs is bent...slightly...camber and castor never change...only toe
