OME 883 coil set, Bilstien 5100 adjustable struts with Light Racing UCA's up front AND roughcountry nitro 9000 rear shocks with 8 leaf Alcans in the back. BF Goodrich AT KO 265/75/16 on Wheelers 16x8 black steel wheels. ARB front bumper mounted with KC Day Lighter 100 watt halogen lights and 2" back-up firestik antenna. Cobra ltd 29 CB Radio with PA speaker mounted under the hood. In the bed: 2 bike Thule rack, spare tire, 5 gal. Gas tank, and my tool box all covered by a softopper shell. Main 3" Firestik is mount at the rear. She sits pretty, and runs like a champ.
I'm looking for a 3" lift kit that wont break the bank, but still has some good replacement parts for my current ones. For example: I would like to replace my leafs; possibly get some new shocks and struts on all four corners.

I was thinking of just going with an OME lift kit, but I still feel a little cautious about spending 1000 with out proper research/answers.

I think it goes without saying that I don't know much about lift kits in general, but those are my goals over all.

I have a 2004 Tacoma Prerunner trd off-raod 2wd with locking differential and the ect power.

If you want to replace all the main components with quality parts you're gonna drop close to $1000 there's no way around it. OME is good but you won't get a full 3" lift out of it, probably more like 2". I would buy a set of 4 5100s from Downsouth Motorsports, eibach coils from toytec, and OME Dakar rear leafs. That'll put you in the $900-$1000 ballpark with 3" of lift.

OME + top plate spacer = 3" or Eibach springs with 5100's...it depends on your budget.

Thanks guys! Still looking around a lot. Piecing it together might be where I'm headed than rather going full OME kit. I'm also still debating about what the best lift for my tacoma's application would be. I, like some, love a good-aggressive look and a great feel behind the wheel. But I'm not going off roadin' with it and at the same time I would love to put some kick'n tires on there with a kit to give it some clearance off the road.

I was lookin just now at one of the daystar 2.5 inch kits,

    http://www.4wheelparts.com/Lift-Kit...s=358&t_pt=9333&t_pl=100843&t_pn=DAYKF09051BK

and was wondering about their reputation, maybe some of you senior members could give some input. That would be a cheaper option with out replacing any suspension parts. which gives me the option to get some of the better performing parts later to add on when I can afford it.

    Thanks again for the responses!

Blocks and spacer lift is junk. On a budget...if you don't want to dump $1000 then go Bilstein 5100 adjustable front shocks and AAL or shackle in the rear. Then if and when you want to upgrade later when you have more cash you can add OME coils or Eibach coils. Trust me...you'll thank me later.

If I was on a budget and want something that would ride top notch on road and has the capability to tuck larger tires and give you a aggressive look I would get these:

Bilstein 5100 front adjustable shocks and set them at 2.5" with your stock coils and 5125 rear shocks: Paired with a single Wheeler's 1.5" AAL or if you want something better I would suggest the Wheeler's 3 leaf AAL too:

I am a fan of the OME setup personally. You can get 3" of lift out of it, depending on which springs you choose. What size tires are you looking to fit?

I have a desire to lift between 2-3 inches. Depending on some things, of course. I'm pushin' more towards 3 Inches.

You said that. I was just trying to find out what you were trying to accomplish with the lift.

Bilstein + Eibach and/or OME + top plate will both yield 3" and some reported getting more then 3" with the Eibachs.

Other than clearance off the ground I am attempting to get some bigger tires on there, get some good ride-ability and the aggressive look is the plus.

I will ask one more time. What size tires are you trying to fit? 285/75/16s will require more lift than 265/75/16. 3" is actually a little too high for tyhe 265s.

If you want a decent and accurate solution to your request, providing people with complete information will be very helpful.

I apologize I was responding without thinking, sorry not a strong forum guy either. I am trying to get the 265-75-16r's on there, would that mean I'd have to go for a 2" only?

Since 265/75/16 tires fit on stock suspension maybe just some 5100s up front with an OME coil to level out the factory rake and 5125 rear shocks. The truck would be level and look good with that tire size without breaking the bank.

    Thank you Josh.

As Tyler stated above, you can fit those tires on the stock suspension, but they look and perform better with a little lift. 2" will be fine for your needs, I ran mnine like that for two years before I got arrogant and went to the 285/75/16 tires. This size required some trimming, metal pounding and new, longer coils on the front.

The Bilstein 5100s will work fine, although I am not a fan, just from a friends' bad experience. You can also get the OME struts and 881 springs. You should get 2-2.5" from them. You could also get a set of OME Dakar leafs for the back and you would have a nice, new, tight suspension that will serve you well for years.

Oddly enough I called into a local tire shop just to see what the biggest BFgoodrich AT's I could put on, and they told me 265 70 16's are the biggest but from what I read all over Tacoma world that's not true. But I figured if I, at a minimum, just leveled it out I could probably put the 265 75 16's on anyway. I don't know, a lot of options.
