I just bought a 2009 taco access cab pyrite mica. I have a budget of about $1200 to do whatever I want with the truck. I've spent $400 on the bed cover, and another $300 on side bars and a bull bar (coming in Thursday!!!). My question is, should I paint the original wheels satin black ($20-$30) or buy a used set of 2012 Tacoma wheels off craigslist for $200? I can't decide..

These are the wheels that are on the truck. basic, 16 inch steel wheels. They were fine until I was washing them yesterday and it hit me that these wheels are as ugly as sin. I've read a lot on painting wheels, and have liked the outcome of MOST wheels. The bull bar and side step that I have coming in are powder coated black. I don't want too much black, but I still want something that looks better than these ugly steel wheels.

If I've put the pics in order, these should be the wheels for sale on craigslist.

    Thanks fr the help!!

I'd go with the Craigslist wheels for $200.

Thats a good price for the rims, but remember you will need different sensors for the aluminum wheels. Are the sensors included?

I didn't even think about the sensors...sensors not included...that sucks.

Buy the Craigslist wheels. Then, just flip your steel wheel sensors over 180 degrees, and they'll fit. Just make sure whoever un-mounts the tires next time knows about them though.
