Capitol Forest Scouting Pics 7-15-12

Mike and I went exploring in Capitol Forest. We found some good obstacles, some fun little runs and a couple hill climbs. The scenery was awesome and worth the the drive.

LoL... what road?

 

There was definitely a road there, we just had to clear all the over-growth to get through. After about an hour, we still didn't make it all the way down.

 

Awesome pictures! About how far is the drive to these trails from Portland?

 

about 2.5 hours. There's a lot to explore up there, mostly logging/access roads and a bunch of dead-ends, but there are some good hidden trails we managed to find.

Here's a map...this trip we entered at the North Rock Candy Mountain entrance, and exited at the NW McCleary entrance off of the Mox-Chehalis Rd.

Thats a hella tall powerpole!

 

I was just there on my bike last weekend. Fun riding trails and a lot of logging roads. Found a sweet hill climb that may be taco accessible but was rocky and would be worth checking out. Went to the top of Capitol peak. We need to get a trip going!
