What are the flat squares in the OEM bed liner?

    Been meaning to ask this for a while... Anyone know what the two flat squares sections are that are in the OEM bedliner floor are for?

    Actually I think the rear bed mounts are under those.

    I too have always wondered what they were....I would look under it now but my bed is slam full of yard waste and I have no tags to haul it off...

    My tacoma bed extender has small "posts" (kind of like legs)that end up being placed in those squares when the bed extender is put in the closed position, ie rotated toward the front of the truck. I'm sure my explanation makes no sense without a picture. Unfortunately I don't have pics.
