Could you replace the shocks that come with a procomp suspension lift with blistein 5100s to reduce the stiff ride? Sorry if it's a stupid question lol

I'm probably not the perfect candidate to answer you specific questions but I do have experience with Pro Comp Lift Kit Shocks vs. Bilstein 5100s.

I installed a 2.5" Pro Comp Leaf spring lift on an 86 GMC K2500 that came with those white Pro Comp shocks.... they're total garbage IMO. The truck rode like shit, wondered all over the road, and didn't even come close to getting the travel out of the springs that it should have.

I immediately ordered a set of 4 Bilstein 5100's with about 2" extra travel than needed. Once installed, the truck rode better than with the factory leaves and shocks, didn't wonder at all, and gave me every last inch of travel that the leaves would allow.

Hands down... Bilstein 5100s may be the best investment any 4x4 truck owner could put on his truck lift kit or no lift kit. I'm just about to order a set for my new 2012 Tacoma DCSB TRD Off-Road.

    Hope that helps.

By the time you get a Pro Comp and swap out the shock's with Billies you'd be better off buying the Billy 51's with Eibachs or OME off of toyteclifts.com, almost the same price every way

No I did not keep them. I considered it but the factory ride height on those old 3/4 tons is pretty low. So, I didn't see a need to keep the aal springs.

I actually had to use two separate lifts... 2" Pro Comp on the front and 2.5" Rough Country on the back to achieve the subtle lift I was after. I wanted the truck to look like I thought it should have from the factory.

Here's before and after with some Dick Cepek FCIIs in the mix.

I also wanted to add the lift was all new leaf springs and shocks... no blocks.

Good point.... Why are you considering Pro Comp?

Price mainly. But I've read that the Maxtracs 4inch spindle lift is better ride quality for around the same price

    In my sig
That's because you use the factory suspension that you currently have.
