    Hey all,

Just looking for some opinions on a few concealed carry gun. If you have any thoughts or opinions, chime in!

So far I'm looking at these three...

Taurus Millennium Pro in .45 cal
    ImageUploadedByTapatalk1343236022.807563.jpg

    Taurus 740 slim .40 cal
    ImageUploadedByTapatalk1343237639.957983.jpg

    M&P Shield .40 cal
    ImageUploadedByTapatalk1343238603.568700.jpg

I really like/want a slim pistol. I like the Millennium just cuz I've kinda always wanted a .45.

    Any comments and suggestions welcome!

I carry the Ruger LCP 380. Not big at all and fits in your front pocket.

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
i've got the newer version of the millenium (24/7) compact in .45 and i like it. usually only carry it in the winter though since it's harder to conceal. other than that i have my TCP in .380 that i carry the rest of the time.

I suggest you see if anyone you know will let you shoot the guns you're looking to carry.

Maybe go to a gun shop so you can see how it 'feels' in your hand.

FWIW I carry an SA XD 9mm subcompact with a IWB supertuck holster.

I carry the Millenium Pro .40. I prefer it over the .45 because it is a little slimmer in the grip, but still holds 10+1. It is very easy to conceal/ carry with a holster that tucks inside the wasteband it goes unseen.

What type of build are you? That is a big part of concealing i think because it determines how and what you can carry easier. Also what type of holster are you looking at? Take a look at crossbreed holsters they make a wide varaiety and they are really comfortable and dont print at all.

Out of those choices I would choose the M&P. Just not a fan of Taurus as a carry weapon. That being said, I carry an SA XDm9c in a Crossbreed Supertuck IWB. I'd recommend you go to a range and either rent or borrow a few different weapons to make sure which one fits your needs the best before you buy.

Well I held a buddies Shield the other day and liked it. And I just now checked out the Slim and Millennium and really liked the way both of them felt.

I also looked at a Ruger LC9 with built in laser which was really sweet, but only in 9mm. And I'd really like to have .40 or .45.

    Thanks for the comments.

I'm smaller build. 5.9 about 170 And lean.
I'd like to carry it on my side with a cross harness. I'll be using this gun as a sidearm while hunting, as I hunt muzzle loader.

I carry a Springfield 45 compact xd. The original one. I really love it, but i do want to pick up a lcp 380 to carry when I'm in gym shorts.

i would spend some money and get a kahr k9, or any other kahr. ive got the k9 and its a great solid gun, its also all steel.very slim and compact. but trust me a springfield xd isnt a concelled carry gun, ive got two of them, very bulky. the best thing i always tell people, is to go to a rang and rent a few guns that you may like and really get a feel for them before you fork out money.

love my kahr too. super slim and quite solid. i have a cw, so its composite, but feels very solid compared to some of the other composites. the k or mk versions are all steel but a bit more dough. i picked mine up slightly used with a couple holsters for 325. add ammo and a second mag with a little extension on it and i was still under 400. i would stay away from most in this price range though like the diamondbacks, some cheaper taurus models, and kel-tecs. good luck, searching is the fun part!

also, i never realized that being a skinnier guy meant easier to conceal. and even being skinnier the double stacks were too big a PITA to justify IMO.

    I carry a Bodyguard 380.....but then again, I'm a GIRL!!! LOL

Buying a gun for CC is the easy part.....

Trying to find the RIGHT holster that fits right, feels right, is comfortable enough to wear it all the time...is the hard part.

Aside from that......often, you'll have to change your wardrobe choices just to conceal, especially for a bigger gun.

Hell, I use a Remora holster on my appendix and I have yet to find a outside or inside the waistband holster that works for me. I'm just weird....;)

My husband carries a Kahr PM9

In the winter I carry my FNP .40 since I have bigger clothes and it makes it easy to hide.

My summer gun is the TCP .380. Just found out a company makes an pinky extender for the clip now.

I would try to stay as small as possible and still be comfortable. My 1911 pro carry is to big for summer and thats why I'm looking to a kahr pm series or ruger lcr revolver. I've heard good things about the shield. May have to search for one cause they are tricky to come by.

Hey all, thanks for all the advice.

Honestly, for the most part, I won't be carrying this gun on me at all times. It will be on me while hunting, backpacking/hiking, and will be kept in the gun pouch of my wet okoles in the taco.

That being said, if my final choice is a little more blocky or isn't the perfect concealed carry weapon, its not the end of the world.

I'm really interested in the XD S now tho!
