I bought my truck new last year in the middle of may. This morning went to go to work and the battery was almost dead just had enough power to turn over and eventually fire. I didn't leave the lights on even though u can't all the doors were all the way shut and everything I don't know what could have drained the battery down and the truck is just over a year old ....Idrove it to work and went to go to lunch and still was almost dead just enough to get it to start....I think the dealership should take care of this.

    Anyone have this problem

I don't like the way the headlights auto shut off, that could have bitten you. With headlights on, if you open the door before you turn the vehicle off and remove the key, then they will never shutoff. If you open the door after you remove the key from ignition the lights go out. This was odd behavior for me once I found this out, not sure if you were aware of how they worked.

Warranty....talk to your dealer. It will either be a bad battery or maybe the charging system?

Bought mine new around the same time, put about 15000 miles on it, still running strong. Even with a winch run off it on occasion. That said, I agree that the dealer should fix it.

I no I didn't leave the lights on I drove home in daylight and I checked them this morning plus they would have been shining into my house. Just went out and checked voltage it was 12.8 but wen I went to start it dropped to 4.. I have never even had anything on in the past without the truck running so it has never been drained down at all

Over 70k miles on mine and it's a 2007 (also lots of cold, New England winter starts). I think the dealership should help you out.

My OE battery lasted about 45k miles. I've got almost 70k now on the aftermarket battery I replaced it with.

I forget if they switched the batteries over the years, but if you have the tow package you should have the group 27f Toyota true start if I'm not mistaken. I went through this a few months ago on my 06. They have an 84 month warranty.

I have an 07, bought it new about a year or so into ownership the battery started acting the ass. Brought it in and the dealership replaced it with little hastle. On the up side the second battery is still going strong.

The dealer near me is probably out of the loop, but make sure he gets you the same size. When I called up and told them what I needed, they tried to convince me several times that I had a size 24f. Annoying.

I've had two factory batteries in my Tacoma. They both leak / vent /spew acid after a while. Keep an eye on them and check them frequently, especially in hot weather.

Doesn't hurt to drive to autozone to have the alternator and battery checked for free. If you say your alternator is good, then you might have a dead battery that can't hold a charge. Try to clean/retighten the cables before doing anything else.
