I have not measured, but what about one of the older Basslink's by Infinity?

Of note - one cannot compare car audio to home audio. Efficiency of woofers, size of woofer, size of box, volume needed, and more come into play. In a car, in general, woofers give up efficiency in order to get into a smaller box, so you need much more power to get the output.

With that said, you will find that most running "1000w" amps are never using anywhere near the power, they just have it on tap for times when it is cranked and needs the power.

YEah I would give that up and fil it with a small sub as long as I did not have to cut any plastic, When I sell the truck I want it looking un touched. Stock radio will go back in.

Might want to consider the Metra interface kit instead of the PAC SWI. I've heard that the Metra can be installed without a resistor in-line and the programming is supposed to occur automatically. I have the PAC, but that was before I knew about the Metra.

I love mine with my aftermarket HU. Plenty of extra kick, and gives a great full sound.

Interesting..I red the Metra HU install kits are an issue because the tabs are too short. But I will look into that SWI kit for sure. Thanks

Thanks. I bought that one. Picking up the truck tomorrow. I decided on the X994 for the HU. The intaller is wiring the back for the sub. So I can use an amp or powered enclosure. I am going with the powered enclosure. So far either the Boss or Bazooka.

does that unit slip under the seat or do you have to remove the seat to intall it. If it slips under I may give that one a try. The reviews on Amazon and elsewhere are mostly good. For that kind of money I would not expect much but people are liking them.

I have 2 10" subs powered by 500 Watts. Its adequate, nothing more. I pulled all the rear storage, cut out the suport bar that holds the child restraints and built a shared airspace box that hold the amps and subs about 1.2-1.3 cubic feet total. Again... its completely adequate, but it no way excessive or even everything I might want. A Boss underseat sub... jeeze dude, it sounds like my ideas from my Junior year of highschool when I was adding cheap-o speakers to my XJ becasue I didnt want to add a real sub LOL.

I installed the BOSS 1500 watt powered subwoofer this weekend. It does not fit under the front seats but it does fit nicely behind the left rear seat. This sub adds some bottom even with the seat folded in the up position. I had bought this sub for another car but kept it when I sold the car this past spring. Since I had it lying around I decided to install it in my truck.

I put the volume control fotr the sub in the tray infront of the fuse box

The Sub fits perfectly behind the seat. I drilled holes on the left side of the plastic bin (right side looking back) to run the wires and for the RCA connections. I used the subs rubber "feet" to hold the sub in place. Yikes I need to Armorall my interior behind the seats too. LOL

The stock radio does not have a remote on (for a power antenna) so the remote on is wired to a keyed power fuse at the fuse box plus I installed an on/off switch near the aux input so I can turn the sub off when the radio is off or when the dogs are in the back and don't need to be blasted. PS I found this mp3 player on ebay for $15. Not many features but it plays from an SD card or USB input.
