Toyota TRD Bilstein shocks are NOT Bilstein 4600s. The TRD shocks are built by Bilstein to Toyota specs, but they are not 4600s.

Kit comes with reservoir mounting brackets. Extended travel shock to be used with UCAs. Recovers lost droop due to lift if wound up.

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't the boot the aluminum sleeve that sits around the shaft?

Opinions from those who run them: FOX vs. BILSTEIN for front end upgrade from factory Bilstein (or other options) for desert running... not racing, but to improve the bounce or stop the rocking horse affect.

You can get a black plastic cover for the rears too that go over the aluminum. Toytec charges you extra for them, calls them rock guards. When I ordered mine from wheeler's they came with them.

The OME rear shocks have an impressive range of travel for their size but they really limit rear droop it seems. In the back with the stock bumpstops you should be able to run a shock with a compressed length of 15-16". Does anyone know if there is an OME shock with the same valving but a longer compressed length? OME doesn't really list valving and lengths as clearly as bilstein or some other manufactures... their catalog is more application based ):

I'm kind of confused here, are the two shocks measured the same way? If the OME's can provide 2.5" of lift how are they shorter than the stock TRD's? Does it have something to do with the collapsed length? Aren't they non-adjustable as well?

Also for shocks that have extended length (i.e. Icon extended length version) the extra inch of wheel travel (.5" shock travels) applies to down travel correct? How long of a shock could you theoretically use to get more down travel, eventually it'd limit up travel right? Just as an example if you took that Icon shock and made it 1" longer to give 2" down travel, what would happen over the whole stroke?

Edit: Disregard the last part, I figured it out after thinking about it a while.

I used Google to convert the mm to in. It wasn't exact, so the inches have been rounded to the hundredth either up or down.

Yes they are. It's the coil that you pair them with that provides lift. The shock itself has a set length of travel. So all your longer/stiffer coil does is change your ride height. Your suspension cannot droop any more or uptravel any more unless you start messing with control arms. The OME have the same amount of travel but yes it is odd that they are have a different extended and collapsed length :notsure:
And no OME shocks arent "adjustable"
