Alright so I recently got a 3" lift installed by 4wheelparts. Everything is fine, but every now and then, when I turn, it sounds like the tires will rub really bad on something and a dash light will come on, along with a few real quick, high-pitched beeps. It happens so fast that I don't have the time to look at the dash to figure out what light is coming on before it goes away. The light is yellow and I think it's underneath the transmission gear indicator lights. I've had a bit of trimming done in the wheel wells, and it doesn't LOOK like it should rub, but maybe when the suspension compresses, it does??. That's my only idea. If it is simply the tire rubbing, I wouldn't think that would set off a dash light, would it?

first problem: you had your lift put on by 4wheel parts. They are hardley capable of even pulling the correct order off the shelf...let alone installing a lift.

Second problem: the lift is affecting your Vehicle stability control (VSC). I believe you can take it in to the dealer and they can reset it for you and it should clear things up.

Sounds like the VSC system is kicking in....is it a yellow "!" popping up on the dash?

Well that sucks to hear. A lot of people in the area recommended them before I decided to let them install it. I was thinking about doing it myself but don't have a spring compressor and they told me they'd do a free alignment, which they ended up charging me for. Also they left the plastic deals in the wheel wells flapping, and they tried to keep all my parts.. Anyways,

Is the rubbing noise related to the VSC? The beeps and dash light ONLY come on when I hear that noise..

Thanks Dman, that picture is helpful. Though, I can't point out the light that's coming on. I've only seen it twice out of the corner of my eye, but it looked like it was where the "4LO" light is. Guess I'm wrong

that noise is the ABS kicking on when as a result of the VSC being triggered. did you feel the wheel or truck pull at the same time?

I didn't, but it happened again this morning, as I was turning with my foot on the brake pedal, and it did have that vibration feel, as if the ABS was kicking in. You must be right.

ya, its your VSC kicking in. the beeping noise and the vibration of the brakes kicking in can be startling. it happens more often for me too (since i got my lift), but for me, its not that bad. like others have said, you can have your VSC recalibrated by the dealer. i think its about 20-30 minutes of labor.

it doesn't happen to mine, if you take it to a dealer to get an alignment done, make sure they reset vsc with the zero point call...
