Looks like brake fluid. Leaking wheel cylinder.

If it is gear oil, it's your axle seal. But it appears to be brake.

    Check fluid levels.

It's where you fill up your brake fluid it has a min and max. Not sure for front axle since I'm not but the rear just park level and open up fill plug

    Feel it.
It's really easy to feel the difference between brake fluid and gear oil.
    Plus gear oil STINKS!

To check levels, park on a level surface and pull the fill plug on the side of the diff.
The fluid should be level with the bottom of the fill hole... feel with your pinky.

Brake fluid... Pump the brakes a few times (and see if the mess gets any worse), and check the reservoir on top of the master cylinder.

What was the last thing done to the truck on that corner? Any work on the brake system? Is there a chance that a vandal opened the bleeder valve?
That really does look like brake fluid.

It's leaking from inside the drum. The bleeder would leak down the outside. (Unless a little bit of it was washed away).

from the pic, looks like brake fluid -possible bad wheel cylinder. fluid on the floor looks too "runny" to be gear oil IMO.

He's got a nice truck and IIRC, lives south of El Centro.
Lot of dirtbags in that area that would be jelly and thrash a vehicle just to "get the rich guy"
