Hey all, I had a taco a while ago but had to change to a commuter car for work. Well, my drive to work is now just 10 minutes so Im wanting to get back in a tacoma (of course!)

I really like the look of this one and its 4x4 but a 17.5k pricetag on a 101k miles truck worries me. Any thoughts on the value and what I should give for this truck?

I'm trading in a 2011 accord with 31k miles so tips on negotiating with a trade-in would also be appreciated.

Thanks all and looking forward to getting back on board with a taco :)

Thats about what its worth except with the higher miles you could definitely talk them down a bit.
101 miles is alot. I have 70k on my 07. The engine will last a long time though. Expect about 5 years more before doing some major preventative maintenance that will be $$$.
No clue on trade in stuff. Might want to look into selling it on your own.

Kelly blue book actually says the truck with 101k miles is only worth $16,435 in excellent condition.
Looks like a scuff mark on the front passenger side bumper. Might not be considered excellent.

That's a pretty clean truck, but I wouldn't pay more than $15k for it.

Just the typical stuff a 2007 sport would come with. That is the private party value though, i wasn't looking at what to expect if buying from a dealership.

Edit: OK i lied. I used private party but had stuff like tow package and some other stuff left over from checking the value of my truck. I just did it again with the typical stuff on a 2007 (didnt want to waste time looking at the features of this specific truck, thats what you can do.) and came up with $15,180 for what to expect from a dealership.

Reviving this thread because I just accepted an offer for the Accord I have (selling it private party), so Taco, here I come! Very excited...

I am leaning towards this guy. It's a one-owner vehicle, so he put 12k/year on it, which seems like pretty easy driving to me. I'm actually going down to the 'ship tonight to check it out. Would appreciate a target price to shoot for and maybe some tips on how to get that price.

    Much appreciated

Tacos are great trucks! I bought my '04 DC PreRunner from a local Toyota dealership when it had 95k on the dash and they were asking $18k!! Crazy right... I came in and said the facts that it's an older truck with higher mileage and I wouldn't come anywhere that close. Maybe if you go towards the end of the month when they're pushing to sell as much as they can they will negotiate more. Good luck though, looks like a nice truck.

Always ask for much lower than you are willing to pay for it ie. say I can only pay 19000 for it and be willing to walk out. I wouldn't pay more than 20000.

So I think I've settled on a taco. Its a 2009 TRD Sport 4x4, 74k miles. Private party asking $22k. I went to see it and couldn't find a scratch on it. Pull the trigger?

    Stock for now.
^$20k is probably a fair private party price.
