It's probably a $50 resistor. When I had my Ranger a lot of guys were putting a resistor on one of the wires for the MAF. It supposedly helped with power. All it did was make the engine run a little rich or lean, can't remember which.

15 cent resistor, 2 dollar box, with 40 cents of wire. It fools the engine to think its in Open loop, and eventually will throw a CEL.

Hypothetically, If you were to be in open loop mode at all times could you then have your URD MAF calibrator working at all times?

The URD unit trims the A/F ratio to a more accurate, and appropriate value when running at WOT, rather than open loop. The unit the OP is asking about "tricks" the ECu to think the engine is not up to the correct temp for closed loop operation, thus causing the A/F ratio to be skewed. To add, this will lead to carbon build up on the piston heads.......which can lead to pre ignition/detonation, with can also lead to a blown engine......and/or a CEL to be thrown.....whichever comes first.

Did you install the chip? I'm wanting to get some sort of chip for my 4 banger yota, mainly to gain horsepower. Did this one do U any good?
