    Hi guys

these tires come in a 265/70/r17. The life guard trucks around here use them. I love the look.

Does anyone have these? If so, how will it affect my gas milage / on road driving / road noise..

I don't mind road noise, I don't mind a more harsh ride, but I'd like to retain the handling capabilities of the truck on the stock dunlops. And I don't want any worse gas milage...

I'm not going to do any mudding. I do go out in the desert a fair amount. I am moving to Oregon and will spend lots of time on rainy roads / possible snow / maybe the oregon sand dunes if a locker and these wheels would be enough to get me through the sand. ( No 4x4 and no locker yet, but maybe in the future.

Don't get MT's if you don't want worse gas mileage than the stock Dunflops

how much worse would it be? Right now I get 14.5 (all city style driving).

I can't immagine I'd be getting 13 something.. that's on par with like V12's in exotics..

It's going to be these or BFG's. I have a feeling BFG's would be more practical, but I wanted to ask

i don't even accelerate hard... I touch 4 thousand RPM maybe once a tank of gas... it usually doesn't go above 3 ever, I don't think..

What kind of city driving do you do.

In San Diego, the 2.4 miles to my best friends house has 7 stop lights, and is all 50 mile an hour roads in-between... so it's basically, stop go 50, stop go 50, etc.... not gas friendly at all... and that's how all the driving is around here

I like your build! Not a huge fan of SWB, but I really like your mods. Colors are all preference though. Not saying I'm right.. but SWB isn't my thing.

Mines all rural , hilly driving , short trips , usually under 15km

    80 kph ( 50 mph ) @ 2000 rpm

that's probably why I get such horrible MPG.

As I think, I have about 20 - 30 stop signs / stop lights in a 15 km, 9.4 mile drive. All with 50 mph stints in-between.. sometimes lights line up, but they aren't very good at lining up. I find driving faster / normally / slower doesn't get me any more green lights.

but, I'm mostly concerned with MPG because I'm going to college in oregon. 1000 miles from San Diego. This means bringing my truck back and fourth could be EXTREMELY expensive...

You can check out the Wheel and Tire section of the forum for more information about tires.

I had the Destination M/T's on my work truck which sees brutal daily off-roading. They wore fairly well and never let me down (except for one time when they were worn down to almost bald). Relatively quiet for an M/T. I don't track mileage on my work truck so I can't comment on the effect on fuel economy, but if you're already only getting 13mpg then I can't imagine you would get much worse.
