I decided about a month ago that I wanted a satoshi for my '10 DCSB. Living in Hawaii it's kinda hard to get body parts due to vendors flat out refusing to send things here. So I used my connections at NAPA and found a brand new CAPA grill assembly for $100.

I stuck it on my truck to see how it looked actually left it on for a week.

I did as much research from threads here on the forum.

Here's a pic of the surround off of the main assembly. A dremel and a small grinding bit worked wonders for this.

Here's the mesh I got from a local steel supply house. It's aluminum and goes for about 20$ for a 1'x5' piece. You just gotta make sure they cut it in the right direction.
    A25D2F45-DFF4-4449-B475-C506AA5BFFE7-215_7a27280f0fbc09974db55ce249e3af537a990a9b.jpg
Here's the main body without the center section. I started to fill the sides and cut parts. I used a coping saw with a fine tooth blade to cut this out. Worked like a charm.

The coping saw is to the right of the pic. Also I used "Q bond" to put the hut out pieces back in on the sides. Qbond is a two part glue/powder system that works awesome. Super strong and fast.

Here's a pic of how that looks. I just put masking tape on the back side, filled the crack with the powder then driped in the glue.

Got the surround back from paint. My friend made a custom blended color grey ish graphite.
I finished the inner piece with a good sand able primer then a top coat of satin black bumper paint.
I attached the mesh via 10/28 long nuts and 1.25" x 10/28 stainless screws I actually used the qbond to attach the nuts to the assembly. I used 3 on the top and bottom and 2 per side for a total of 8 its super strong! Sorry no pic of this.

I used the qbond to attach the outer surround to the main assembly. Here's a pic of my test fit.
The whole process took me a month. I figure I could of did this whole thing in a day but I'm a busy dude... With little children and a full time job.

Here's a pic of the finished product. Lemme know if you have any questions if I failed to cover somthing. Thanks for looking!
