Went to install a factory fog light switch in my 05 sr5 for future installation of fog lights and came across this plug behind the switch delete:

are the trucks without fog lights wired for fog's? or is this plug for something else? I didn't trace the wires but i did double check under the hood and did not see any pig tails coming out of the head light harness

Did you find the pig tail or pre wire by the fog light? (at the bumper).

How did you pop out the thing on your dash?

    Thanks.

    Probably need the fuse too.

The relay will be an OEM relay, not the regular OTC Bosch "cube"

To tell if you're pre-wired, look for the relay position in your underhood fusebox and confirm that there are connectors under the panel. My base-model RC does not have them.
Then look under the bumper, the connectors should be taped up behind where the housings plug in.

Look under bumper for connectors, then eBay cause they sell the complete "package" with lights relay and switch for 100 bucks

    Yes and no.

The eGay switch won't plug into the stock harness, and won't fit the stock dash cutout on the older 2nd Gen dash.
The eGay housings are hit and miss on leaking. If they leak, the reflector will corrode and dull.

The good news is, it's only $60-$100 to get another set and MAYBE the left housing in the new set will not leak.

I know this is a super old post. I'm going through this for an 06 tacoma. I'm certain I am pre wired. All I need is housing, lights, relay, and (is it neccesary for me to have a switch?) How do I go about making it so that the fog lights turn on when my regular lights turn on? Or is that what the switch is for?

would have to wire into ignition, easiest would be add a fuse to a ign fuse or into parking lights with a posi tap
