    Hey Guys

Ive been looking at the Hilux Fuel tank they have availible and Im having a hard time finding out how close our stock fuel tank is in comparison to the Hilux stock fuel tank

Im having a hard time throwing a 1000 bucks down on a tank that may fit.....

So if someone has any links of someone who may have installed one or attempted, hell even dimensions would be great

Maybe someone has there tank pulled on there current truck would be awesome too!!!

I need some comparison pictures, and Im just having a hard time finding all the information I may need

possibly someone feel like dropping there tank and taking a side view picture and than a picture the same as the one above, I cant until at the earliest enxt weekend when Im home infront of my truck

But i think it looks promising

honestly I think looking at it, its going to fit

i think its going to be how its mounted will be slightly different

I myself may go for the 126L tank as you gain an extra 3mm of gap vs losing 15......

tough to say though, I gotta sit down with my ARB supplier and see what he can pull off for me

I think ill pull the trigger, and Ill make shift what needs to be done to make it fit

I had a "North-West Steel Products" tank on my 2002 Tacoma and really liked it! It fit above my spare {lowering the spare only 3"} it held about 15 gallons which you pumped into the main tank once you were down 3/4 of a tank! Have you ordered this one yet..if so how did it go in? I'd sure like one!!!!

Let me know how things go.. And if you need to order two I might be able to buy one once I sell the brakes I ordered for my 06 Dodge before I sold it.

I am not far from Edmonton actually.. Just under an hour west.

    Thanks

what's the benefit of this over our stock tanks? looks to hold similar capacity. is it puncture resistant?

Not on their site. But they have them. Many people on Expo have ordered. No one posted pics though. Got off the phone with them about an hour ago and they are building them for export right now. You can email them or call. If you use google voice, its .02 per minute and clarity is perfect. No lag or anything. You have .10 in google voice for free so 5 min call.

Or email them. admin@longrangeautomotive.com.au Brooke is awesome to work with tell her I sent you ;)

The exchange rate is in our favor. 1200 aud is $958.20 USD http://www.xe.com

540 AUD shipping is 431.16 USD - split that with 2 people and you are 215.58

    258.68 + 958.20 = 1173.78 for 2 people each to a port near you

    or

    958.20 + 431.16 = 1389.36 for one person to a port near you

I would do it while the dollar is still strong.

I'm not sure I understand this. I live in rural Maine the nearest gas station is 3 miles away the next one is 8. If I don't get my butt out of the seat in 400 miles I would not be able to walk, where are you going that you would need that much range?

In the Eastern US, you are never far from a gas station. In the Western US, it's easy to be more than 50 miles from one. Go to remote Western Canada and you can get way out on an expedition. These tanks are for multi day expeditions, not just to stretch your distance between fill ups for daily driving and road trips.

I understand what you're saying but like Siesta said... It's for expedition type builds. That said... you could get a slew of RotoPacks for almost $1500. Cost vs benefit would be wasted on me. I'd "personally" throw money somewhere else at my truck but I get the concept.

They make one SPECIFICALLY for the tacoma now. Before the shop shut its doors in the mid west. They sent over a 2012 tacoma and had them make a tank specifically for the 2nd gen tacos/ Then the shop got the truck back state side and was selling the tanks. Seems like on EXPO portal there are many people with them on order or have them but no install pics or feedback after they get them.
