So my truck has developed some pretty nasty little vibes and some grinding noise in the last few days, so I thought I would crawl underneath the Taco and see what I could find. Lo and behold it looks like my carrier bearing isn't too happy, looks like its time for a one piece. Time to make her strong again. Haha.. Beware, these photo's are a ugly. That shit will buff out right? Haha..

Anyone in the Savannah, GA area have any experience with Powertrain Inc on Telfair? If anyone from the area see's this post.

Whoa! That IS ugly! I think I'm headed the one-piece way myself. Sorry, but I don't have any experience with driveline shops in your area.

On a side note, looking at your avatar and your location I'd guess that there's a possibility that you're a Night Stalker. Yes? I was a standard H60 guy for over 8 years, but now I'm an H65 driver in the CG. Yes, at times I find myself missing Big Green.

Thanks for your service, and fly safe!

I just thought the vibes were just from my sick off-roadin tires! Haha..

I've been traveling to Savannah annually now (road trips) and not sure when I am making another trip. If I do and it's soon I can bring my used (15k miles) drive shaft if you want to buy it or we could look at the 1 piece I recently installed and take some measurements if you want to order one. Good luck bud.

@Large - I called the local shop and they quoted me about $375 for a one-piece. I'm going to drop her off Monday and see what they can do. How do you like your new one piece?

@Round. That HD Carrier looks sweet! That thing can surely take plenty of abuse.

Yea just figured I would give you an option to look at. I also am running a one piece rear DS but thats only because its 8" shorter than stock. Good luck with what ever you do as that POS OEM carrier is toast.

Of all the thousands of dollars I've put in to the truck this is the best slice of cake. It should have been #2 on the list, right after the lift of course.
