After a record drought, my Taco got hailed on today. 2 visible dings in the hood and a couple in the roof. Whacha think - is a $500 deductible worth it? I assume fixing it is a good idea to maintain the value of my truck, a 2010 with 20K miles.

If I go to a dealer for a quote, are they going to do paintless repair? If not and I get a whole new hood, I'll have to think about if I want a sport hood mebbe. I don't think I do, but it'd be worth the consideration.

Pics would be pretty anemic - white is about the best color to hide hail.

Just didn't know if they were bad enough to see in the pictures...up to you really. one of my other cars was in a hail storm but I didn't feel it bothered me enough. 500 could go towards another mod. Lol

I've never seen that work for hail. It's for wide, shallow dents with no crease or dimple in the metal. Hail = tiny, sharp dimple dents.

It's worked for me a couple of times. If it's on the hood why not just push it out with your hand? The little heat shield isn't hard to remove.

I had 36 dings from hail on my Scion and it was the insurance quoted $1600 to fix it so i doubt 4 will be more than $500.
