Typically when you paint the top side of the hood, you'll clear the underside as well.

How about if the hood scoop tunneled from front to back, without actually breaking through into the engine bay, It'd act like an air dam/wing effect like the Ford GT's have. then leave the side slits for pulling air out? I kind of like the look of the scoop.

Sans the scoop and I'd be interested in one if offered with a paint ready surface. Traded my stock scooped hood to get rid of it once I found that all available CF hoods were only offered with scoops. Would say that the heat evacuation properties offered by louvers would be best achieved if they were moved further back similar to the ford truck that was pictured above.

So as my Russian friends would say. "Flag to your hand."

To answer your initial question, no interest. I am already concerned about the flimsiness of the exterior metal...

I absolutely hate how they look. My dad owns a body shop and had one laying around so I had it painted. It looked pretty sweet:

I was thinking something like the way this hood was done on a wrangler, but fitting tacoma styling..with the functioning air exit in the low pressure area and scoop bump.

    http://www.rubitrux.com/go4x4it/wp-content/gallery/jk-8/jeep-jk-8-white-hood.jpg

or a tacoma version of this style hood...

    http://shawnebell.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/526922_10151832336551515_1349634721_n.jpg

I would be interested in something as long as it utilized the factory mounting brackets and factory windshield sprayers/washers, and latching along with a good fit and finish. Haven't seen any for 2012's but the ones I have seen in CF required the racing style hood clips to hold closed.

hmm, looking at mcneils site, you might be able to work something like the second with their louvers and some bodywork to the stock hood.... IDK im not a bodywork guy so if i do it ill have a shop install and paint it.
