awesome thanks. i was just a bit nervous because in their faq section it says not to trust online sites that charge you to put up a resume.. then in the resume section it gives you a chance to "upgrade" your account or whatever.. only thing is i think there is a smaller demand in portland or then say san diego or new york or ga. guess we will see. hopefully once i get some 6 sigma training that will help. well i have 8 months out here so hopefully in the next 6 months i can get something locked in either aviation or one of the other fields i am going for.

yeah i wouldnt mind spending the next how ever long it takes to get a black belt but i doubt my work will let me go. i think i will end up going to yellow and green classes and maybe if i am lucky a brown...but from what i hear probably not going going to actually get certified brown belt... just recieved training at that level...but i will push it as much as i can. six figures sounds good to me!

your on your way. now go learn Mandarin and the other major Chinese language. and you prob retire by 45.
your line of work can take you across all mass producing manufacturing. though be warned if the company's management doesnt back you 100 % then your just beating your head against the wall. i worked for one company that picked and choosed what they wanted to do. mainly 5s. they liked the cleaning part. but didnt do the part that got the all the floor mechanics involved in the decision making. didnt work and never will. gl my friend. you will do well

Rebuilt f404 engines in the Marines. I work offshore now as an industrial turbine mechanic. Didn't want to put up with all the BS of aviation anymore. Industrial turbine work is plentifull and pays just as good, I think.

What is an industrial turbine? Got any use for an avionics tech? Been in aviation for 13 years now and it's getting old.

Industrial turbine is usually an Aeroderivative engine, reconfigured to perform work. IE: instead of thrust... more turbine sections to drive equipment like generators, pumps, gas compressors, ships. They reconfigure the engine to be more durable, constant duty(always on) Most industrial turbines run for 40-50,000 hours before rebuild. Only shutdown for quarterly maintenance and then started back up to run another 3 months to a half year, depending on the environment. Mostly used in power co-generation to help the power grids during peak output times. Also heavily used in Oil and Gas production both onshore and offshore, as they are more reliable than diesel engines of the same output. (lighter too)
