A place for my ipod

I've been looking for months for a decent ipod mount for the taco that would hold the cable from the PA15-TOY adapter and fit my ipod 4G nano with the silicone jacket. I found some at ProClip like this but none were compatible with the 4G nano ~ only the older models. And I didn't want to have to remove the silicone jacket each time to put it in the holder. So I found some scrap polycarbonate around our shop and went to work ~ after work of course. With a metric butt load of measurements, test pieces and time at the Bridgeport, below is the result. Unfortunately, we only had (1) 1/2" x 2" wide piece and a bunch of 1/4" thick pieces so it ended up being made from 5 pieces of polycarbonate and 1 bent steel bracket. Opinions?

 

It looks good- Does the adapter not give you enuf control thru the head unit?? I use mine on random on a few different playlists and it's great. It sits in my glove compartment and doesn't need to come out except to be unplugged.

The adapter limits me to 6 playlists and I have about 20 or so. I frequently use the mode where the ipod has control so I can pick a different playlist that's not one of the 6. As an added bonus I can see the album art.

 

With that many playlists...I can see where you are coming from...Nicely done!!

(I'm too cheap to have album art....My iPod mini is from like 2004-I don't really ever want to look at it)
