What about my idea of a rheostat on the electric turbo?

Google the Megasquirt 3 ECU. That can do what you are looking for, as far as tuning.

Don't want to cut into the factor ECU? Get a plug n play extension harness from urdusa.com so that you can wire into it.

Most people I have seen that turbo'd their 3.4's did a custom rear mount or mid mount.

A good place to ask questions about headers and turbos for your engine in general, would be www.lceperformance.com. Call them.

Generally speaking, it is easier to do a twin setup, on V engines. That being said though, I have a single on mine. ;)

4.88 are way to much for what you seem to be looking for. I think that Toyota has something between a 4.10 and 4.56. You would just have to find which vehicle came with it. Like I said. I think.

Might be a Garret turbo housing but I highly doubt they have anything to do with the electric components bolted to the back of the thing where the exhaust would normally tie in.

No offense to the OP, but is this thread a joke? While it is technically possible, the amp draw to get any real performance gain would not make it feasible at the puny human level of technology. Unless you have a flux capacitor. Which isn't real.

It won't be workable for street use at full power.
It'll be even less useful "throttled" back.

Not to mention that you'd smoke a rheostat at anything over 50%.
You would need a high current electronic speed control.

This thread is a joke. You own a 4,000lb V6 truck. What do you expect you bought a boat. There is no magic mod that can make these trucks fast. Once you accept this life will be much easier.

Believe me I know there's no magic mod I was just contemplating the possibility that it might work since it integrated an actually turbo impeller not some shitty RC engine plastic fan turbine. And yes a speed control module is what would have to be used for the high amp draw. Im on my cell phone so I was trying to use little words. Lol. When your 19 and have a wife and a 4 month old boy its hard to make yourself buy a turbo or s/c setup, though I make great money at my job (ammonia refrigeration) I kinda have my priorities straight when it comes to money. I was just being hopeful. I knew it was probzbly a piece of junk but it seemed more feasible than anything in the electric turbos that I've seen.

You need to look up the 2010 Turbo Tacoma in the 2nd Gen Build section. It is fast. Getting valve body upgrade done today. Custom intake manifold tonight. Re-dyno tomorrow.

You want a turbo, you need to do it right. Don't cut corners, or your will pay for it more than once.
