Should be an interesting alternative to the Taco when the truck comes stateside, though reliability will probably suck.

Note the circular air intake opening on the inner fender. There's also a steel beam going over the access cab window. Wonder why.

Fully boxed frame. Wonder if they'll have rust issues? :p Layout is similar to the Taco with the fuel tank and front driveshaft on the left side of the vehicle. The rear bumpstops are placed correctly on the rear leafs instead of on the frame (source of frame bending for the Raptor). Note the "cone" for guiding the tire winch. Also note the large center hole for the spare - wheels may become compatible with Tacos.

Front suspension. Layout is similar to the Taco's.

    Rear suspension.

Colorado is already confirmed for the U.S. market, along with the GMC Canyon. They're going to be built in the Wentzville, Missouri plant. Should likely see them roll out in about a year as 2014 Model Year. 2015 Model Year at the latest.

Only question left is powertrains... likely the 2.0T and 3.6 V6 in the Cadillac ATS, with some slightly different tuning of course.

That would be fantastic. It would be nice to have some competition come stateside so Toyota is forced to step up their game. Being on top makes a company soft if left unchallenged ya know?

I just hope GM prices the trucks competitively. The prev-gen Colorado/Canyon were more expensive than comparably-configured Tacos.

If the trucks prove popular, at some point someone will import the Holden OEM snorkel and plate bumper into North America. :)

Really? I always felt the Tacoma was a good amount higher than the GM twins. Or at least, would be offered with pretty heavy incentives to bring the actual price below Tacoma.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
Having a diesel option alone is liable to take a lot of the Tacoma guys that want diesel Tacos and turn them into BowTie boys...Either way, the new Colorado sure isn't going to win any beauty contests in my book, I'll stick with my Tacoma.

As a former Colorado owner, I'll save you the guesswork:

    Buy a Tacoma.

I got a good deal on my 2006 Colly 4wd as a last yr unsold. Had about 5 years of minimal issues..except for the cam actuator going 3 times.

Then the bottom fell out at 78K..cylinder head, dealer says $3000. I do some looking online and found a TSB on the 04-06 run that the heads were defective and had a 7yr/100k warranty.

Well the dealer fixed it all right but it ate a cam and timing chain when the head let go. The dealer saw fit to charge me full price for that ($1300) and told me it's not his call to comp it but GM will. GM told me 2 wks ago they can't the dealer has to. The dealer then told me it's his job to fix the car and bill me not give out freebies. I spoke to the owner Monday and if he doesn't call me back by Friday it's getting nasty..

I was fortunate to get a good # on the Colorado and got my 10 Tacoma..
