I have a 2010 double cab 4x4 TRD/OR. Everything is stock. I am looking for new tires and I read a thread on here that said the biggest I can go with stock suspension is 265/75 R16.

When I went to 4-wheel parts to check on pricing the salesman said that I would have to lift the front of my truck 1" to fit those tires. So I have a couple questions.

    1) is 4-wheel parts telling me the truth? Do I have to lift the front end to fit that tire?

    2) or was the post on taco world correct, saying that 265/75 R16 can fit on stock TRD/OR 2nd gen tacos?

I really don't want to lift my truck. I don't want to mess with the stock suspension (that's why I got the TRD/OR package)

Can you all help me out with this one?

Thanks Taco World. Love this site!

you do not need to lift the truck to fit a 265/75/16. they don't know what they are talking about like always haha

As long as you keep the stock wheels. If you also change out your wheels to one with more "negative offset" all bets are off.

I had 265/75/R16s on stock suspension for 4 years on my 2007 TRD off road, no issues whatsoever.

So without a lift I'd rub if I went bigger than 265/70/17? That's pretty small :/

Crap. I'm considering spacers, but that's like cheating :(

That's the problem. Im cheap, but i offroad. Hard. I used to drive a lifted jeep before my taco. I wanna get pretty close to its abilities traction wise. I dont expect to crawl a mountain or anything, but a hill wud be nice. Lol

Truth. I changed tires with OE wheels and had no problems with this size.

    Function > Form IMHO.

People always stuff big ass tires in their trucks and rub like crazy and can't turn properly or wheel good without ripping off fenders or lugs on the cab mount.

    Relentless front. Homemade rear...kinda.

I now have a set of 255/85/16's on a second set of wheels so I could gain 1" clearance for the summer.

    English please.

My tires rubbed with my lift and still would rub if I was running them. They rub the frame and the fender.
