Has anyone bought a Borla exhaust on a 4.0 liter Tacoma? I'd like to know your input on the sound, performance, fit, and any problems on installation.

I did for my 2007 TACO. Installation was a breeze (soak the hangar connection points in Rust Eater or something of that nature first).

At first I thought it was a bit dicey since its not a single piece. But I took it in for testing just to insure that there were no leaks at the connection point. A torque wrench is suggested.

I've had it for a few years now and the Chrome tip still looks great. Still sounds great as well.

I can't really tell as far as performance goes. I couldn't tell any difference. I am not willing to pay for a dyno when all I have is a a CAI and Exhaust.

The big difference was the sound. A nice low growl.

I like the sound of the Borla...seems close to the TRD catback. Just looking at their website the catback looks really expensive ($600+). Anyone know of a lower price?

    Oh Yeah!!!
I have now upgraded to a Banks 3" CBE to suplement for my SC...

The Borla was awesome. Clean set up, and sounded great with multiple set ups, Ie... JBA Headers/ JBA Headers with URD Y pipe/ DTLT's/ etc...

If you can fork out a few more bucks for a quality setup that wont rust and sounds great; Go for it.

No Comment on HP gains...

@roxspin72 - Im as well supercharged and am looking for an exhaust. Love the sound of the borla but 2.25" piping sounds really constipated. how was it with your supercharger? would you suggest a banks over the borla?

The one thing to make sure of, is whichever brand or custom, that it isn't a smaller diameter than yours.

I got mine for 60 dollars! Some guy who picked up crashed vehicles out of town took it off a wrecked 2010, obviously he didnt know what he had. My truck is a 2001 so i took it to a local muffler shop and it was almost an identical fit but they bent the pipe and installed it for me for 30 bucks. So a whomping 90 dollars i got a borla exhaust system. I really like the noise of the exhaust, i would recommend it.
